the filmmaker: a parent of SM
A Mother's Devotion to Helping Her Daughter and Others Impacted by SM

Christy LeMire has spent the last eight years navigating the unknown cause of her daughter's developmental and behavioral challenges. When her daughter was 5 years old, Christy and her husband stumbled on Selective Mutism (SM). Since then, they have spent every available moment supporting and advocating for their child with this diagnosis. The intention to produce this documentary is the result of that passion and drive to help their daughter someday have the ability to freely express herself.
Christy's mission is to raise awareness about SM and advocate for increased research, earlier detection, and more accessible treatment options by informing and inspiring parents, caregivers, teachers, therapists, and medical professionals.
